A frame that's slimmer, not weaker
The first thing people notice about Heritage Nord is how light it looks. The Thermowood® frame is slimmer than what you'll find on our Nordwood models, which gives the whole structure a cleaner, more minimal profile - less garden shed, more garden room. That slimmer build carries the same strength rating as the rest of our glass line: a 51 lbs/sq ft snow load and a 70 mph sidewind rating, so the lighter look isn't a trade-off against tough winters.
We've written before about what makes Thermowood® itself worth building with - it's timber modified with heat and steam rather than chemicals, and the short version is that it stays stable and resists rot for decades without anything added to it. Glass on every wall
Heritage Nord is fully glazed - 4mm (5/32") tempered safety glass on all four sides, not just the roof. That's what a Thermowood frame lets you do: because the wood barely moves with temperature and humidity, the glazing stays properly seated year after year instead of working loose the way it can on frames that expand and contract more.
The practical result is a room with light coming from every direction, at any hour. It also means the space works as more than a greenhouse. Owners are using it to start seedlings in spring, sure, but just as often for a studio, a morning coffee spot, or somewhere to sit with people after dinner. At 174 sq ft (12.5' × 15.1', with a 9.5' ridge), it's sized to hold both uses without feeling like a compromise between them.
Two automatic roof window openers handle ventilation, and the double door is nearly twice the width of a standard door - wide enough that the room opens straight onto the garden rather than just providing a doorway into it.
Covered for 15 years
Heritage Nord carries a 15-year warranty on the Thermowood® frame - the longest we offer on any structure. Accessories (the door lock and roof window openers) carry a 2-year warranty. Glass panels themselves aren't covered, which is standard across our glass structures, and registration within 30 days of delivery is what activates full cover.
Made to order, and what that means for delivery
Heritage Nord isn't sitting in a warehouse waiting for an order - each one is built to order at our factory in Europe, the same way our Nordwood collection is. That's the trade-off for the build quality: you're not buying off a shelf, you're placing an order that goes into the next production batch.
In practice, that means a delivery window rather than a shelf-ready ship date. Our fastest option currently runs about 12 weeks; standard delivery runs longer. Exact windows depend on where you are and current production and freight schedules, and we'll confirm your specific dates by email after checkout. Why we built it
Gustav, our founder, has spent time on the road across the US, sitting down with people who already owned one of our greenhouses. He kept hearing the same thing: growing food was only ever half of what they wanted from the space. What kept coming up was somewhere to actually spend time - slow mornings with coffee, evenings with friends, still outdoors but out of the wind and the cold.
Heritage Nord is the answer to that. It's still built to grow food properly - full glazing, the same wind and snow ratings as the rest of our line - but it's designed just as much to be a room you'd choose to sit in, not just a structure you walk through to check on plants.
